Speaker Bio
Alicia Green was born in Las Vegas and raised in Reno, NV. She relocated to Greensboro, NC in 2006 where she and her husband are currently raising their three children. Alicia first began her career in Greensboro as a Critical Care Registered Nurse. She credits John Maxwell’s teachings, any leadership books, and other nursing leaders for motivating and mentoring her passion for leadership. She became a leader quickly and had several leadership positions throughout hospital organizations from a Unit Coordinator, to House Supervisor.

In 2015 Alicia’s husband, who also has a love of leadership, together they decided to take an ambitious risk and open what was originally “Go Green Plumbing.” They started this business in the basement of their home. Alicia continued to work at the hospital nights, weekends, and at Go Green during the week, while her husband was working endless hours in the field. The goal was to, “Build something beautiful for our family, and for our community.” Go Green Plumbing, has now grown to Go Green Plumbing Heating and Air, which recently now also offers electrical, with over 60 employees in the Triad. They knew that together they could accomplish anything. They credit the growth and success not just to themselves, but to the amazing team of leaders that work with them, that they have seen grow with them, and all of the team members.

Alicia holds several degrees, is a certified John Maxwell coach, and is a Black Belt in Six Sigma. She is a member of several committees and participates in several charitable organizations, including Go Green Plumbing Heating and Air’s own organization that was started in 2018, called “Go Green Community Promise,” which provides free plumbing and HVAC services to those in need in our local community. She hosts quarterly community blood drives, and sponsors several charities including: cancer societies, foster programs, domestic abuse, and holds several free community events such as National Night Out BBQs and Trunk or Treats, Give a Kid a Coat, handing out free turkeys on Thanksgiving, and sponsoring families at Christmas. She has a passion for Philanthropy and hopes to someday open more charitable organizations of her own.

Alicia’s definition of success is making a positive impact and bettering the lives of others. She is most proud of how her and her husband’s company has been able to build up the lives of their employees, providing them with not just jobs, but true careers. Her constant drive for improvement is something that she not only coaches, but also passes onto the teams she works with.

Alicia’s words of advice, “It doesn’t matter where we come from, we can achieve anything. Keep working hard, find a mentor, work on your leadership mindset and attributes through audiobooks, podcasts, never stop reading. Surround yourself with people who are better than you, at business, and at life, the kind of people you aspire to be. Be kind to yourself; we can be so hard on ourselves sometimes that we can cause more harm than good. Mental health is so important, don’t forget to take care of yourself too.
